Este proyecto se emplaza en el barrio las cruces, en el centro de Bogotá, un barrio que ha sido históricamente marginado y segmentado, lo cual ha llevado a algunos problemas de carácter social, ademas de esto, el barrio se encuentra en decadencia urbana, por lo que por medio del proyecto arquitectónico lo que se busca es lograr una revitalización del barrio a través de una renovación urbana que permita mezclar usos y actividades que den nueva vida al barrio y que integren a esta comunidad con la ciudad y el paisaje natural que la rodea. Este barrio colinda al oriente con los cerros Monserrate y Guadalupe, lugares representativos del paisaje Bogotano, al sur y al occidente con la iglesia las Cruces y con la plaza de mercado, ambas patrimonio histórico de la ciudad, por último, al norte con la candelaria y el archivo distrital y nacional. / This project is located in Las Cruces neighborhood, near Bogota's downtown, a neighborhood that has been historically marginalized and segmented, which has led to social problems, in addition to this, the neighborhood is in urban decadence. For this reason, the objective through architectural project is to achieve a revitalization of the neighborhood in an urban renewal that allows to mix uses and activities that give new life to the neighborhood integrating this community with the city and the natural landscape. This neighborhood adjoins to the east with the Monserrate and Guadeloupe hills, representative icons of Bogota's landscape, to the north with Candelaria neighborhood and the District and National archive and to the south and west with Las Cruces catolic church and the market square, both buildings established as cultural patrimony of the city.
El proyecto se abre a su entorno por medio de tres ejes que comunican el área oriental con el área occidental del barrio, en donde se encuentran el hospital y la plaza de mercado respectivamente; creando un importante punto de circulación que conecta el barrio a la vez que enmarca el paisaje de los cerros orientales a la ciudad. / The project is opened to its surroundings by three principal axes that communicate the eastern area with the western area of the neighborhood, where the hospital and the market place are located respectively, creating an important node that connects all the neighborhood while framing the landscape of the eastern hills to the city.
Se busca activar la zona por medio de un proyecto de vivienda que se extiende sobre el lugar a manera de torre plataforma adaptándose a la topografía natural, en donde por medio de una pendiente de aproximadamente 15m se conecta la parte alta con la parte baja del barrio por medio de una plataforma comercial, lo cual también permite que exista una fuerte interacción durante el día en esta zona. Sobre esta plataforma se extiende una torre de apartamentos los cuales se adaptan en tamaño y forma a las necesidades cambiantes de la población que habita el barrio. / The project seeks to activate this area through a housing project that extends over the place and adapts to land's topography, where by means of a slope of approximately 15 meters tall the upper part is connected with the lower through a commercial platform, which also allows a strong interaction between people during the day, above this platform extends the tower of apartments which are adapted in size and shape to the changing needs of the current population of the neighborhood.
También el proyecto comprende un centro cultural y deportivo, el cual se emplaza al costado sur del proyecto, conectándose con el área central del barrio, que lleva a la plaza y a la iglesia. Lo que busca este proyecto es responder a una necesidad que posee esta comunidad, ya que carecen de espacios que promuevan una cultura activa y sana para la población joven, los cuales han estado excluidos de estos espacios en la ciudad debido a que los indices de delincuencia e inseguridad en el sector tienden a ser altos. / The project also includes a cultural and sports center, which is located on the south part of the project, connecting with the central area of the neighborhood, which leads to the plaza and the church. What this part of the project seeks is to respond to a need that the community has, because there's a lack of places that promote an active and healthy culture for the young population, which have been excluded because the crime and insecurity indexes of the neighborhood tend to be high.
Al integrar un proyecto de vivienda con una plataforma comercial y un equipamiento cultural y deportivo de gran escala, se invita a la población del barrio a integrarse rompiendo las barreras que existen entre la misma y buscando crear un ambiente mas amigable y socialmente mas activo que promueva un sentido de pertenencia mas fuerte por el entorno urbano y natural y una apropiación que potencie la seguridad del sector y mejore la calidad de vida de la comunidad. / By integrating a housing project with a commercial platform and a large-scale cultural and sports center, the neighborhood population is invited to integrate breaking the existing barriers between them and seeking to create a more friendly and socially-active environment that promotes a stronger sense of interaction with the urban and natural environment, and also a good appropriation that enhances the security of the neighborhood and improves the quality of life of people's community.
